Saw an article in Nov. 2005 Air & Space magazine about Van Sant Airport.
Must admit I'd never heard of it before. Only about an hour away across
the Delaware River into Pennsylvania.
Took a ride there today, a real pretty setting. Grass runway atop a hill.

Unlike Dan's photos from Texas with brown grass and blue skies, we have
just the opposite here lately in the Northeast.

Some pics below.

Wow... you are right Bill, quite the contrast! Great shots in what looks like a great setting for biplanes!

Mr. Moth,

You may remember a green Tiger Moth named "Limey Ricky" that used to be at Cable Airport in Upland, CA owned by Dale Miller.

http://162.58.35.241/acdatabase/nnumsql.asp?NNumbertxt=1978M

It is now owned by Mike Aven and is under restoration at Chino and will go back to original markings.

If I'm not mistaken this aircraft was Downunder during its service life.

That is all!

BK

A shame you didn't include the Travelair or the Meyers OTW (Kinner), but they were probably back in the hangars.
I believe the OTW is for sale.
