Hi,

Here are a few quick pics of my first completed build of 2012. It's the old 1/72 Airfix F2H-2 Banshee. I built it straight out of the box with few exceptions. I replaced the ejection seat with resin Obsucreco Panther seat. Not exactly correct but it looks much better than the clunky kit seat. I drilled out the cannon ports in the nose with a pin vise and that's about it.

I airbrushed it with Testors MM Gloss Sea Blue. The decals are from several old Microscale sheets, some requiring a coat of liquid decal film to restore them to usable shape. I chose to do this particular a/c from a photo in the Steve Ginter "early Banshee" volume.

Now to finish up my 1/72 RF-101H Voodoo conversion…

-Derek

Do I hear 'Banjo' music? Nice job on a really old, but not so bad kit.
Sometimes it's fun to find a really old kit stashed in the back of the closet and have to go get your 'creative' hat to see how you can improve an oldie-again nice work!!
