First "tri-national" WIX meet went off well on Thursday (Canada Day) at CAvM in Ottawa. Good group of WIXers present including Scott Rose and Ryan Keough from NH, James Kightly from the UK and of course several Canucks...Great to meet and hangar-fly with several WIXers I've only "met" on the forum before. Despite a couple sudden violent squalls (at one point there was a wet mist falling inside CAvM itself, since the main hangar doors were open), the airborne part of the July 1 open-house happened as scheduled, with flyby appearances by Mike Potter in his Spit XVI, CWH's B-25J, and the CF Snowbirds, and a CF Skyhawks parachute team demo operating from Rockcliffe in a 442 Sqn CC-115. CAvM's stored B-24 was open for interior tours. Sadly the WIX group couldn't get out to the Beaufighter. Oh well, it's doubtful we could have recovered it without being noticed anyway. :-)

Thanx much to Mike and Catherine Henniger for putting three of us up overnight, and to Ryan for the B-24 shirt...which I'll be wearing when virtually the whole group reconvenes in a week at Geneseo NY.

Cheers

S.

:( I'm so sad I was not able to be there :(

I hope to see all or most of you guys in a week at Geneseo.

Eric
