Looking at attending this show for the first time this year. Has anyone gone before and can give information on layout, best place to set up a chair, etc.? Looks like a good lineup with the F-86, T-33, A-26, C-46, C-47, C-54 and Corsair.

Matt,
if you look at the map on their site, I sat where I was facing the intersection of the runways against a snow fence they set up behind the row of parked planes shown on the ramp in the google maps image next to the first taxi way and had great views of the landings. The take-offs were over my left shoulder. (to the North) that day.

I got there way early and parked in a temporary lot off Lost Nation Road, to the left of the pad.

The planes were parked around the pad and they would rope off a path for the planes to get to the runway when they would taxi.

I intend to be there again this year.

Kenn

Thanks for the info! Can only tell so much from a map. Nice to know where the best spots to watch are going to be.

I'm planning on going at least one day, maybe both.

If the theme is Korea they need to add a P-51. It's not an airshow without a Mustang!

If you plan on attending check the aircraft list before you go. The F-86, Corsair and A-26 are no longer shown. Also note that is a T-51 Mustang not a P-51 Mustang.

If that's the case, they just took some real "meat" out of that lineup!

I don't know if the B-25 will get there either... They had some engine problems here in Angola at the Balloons Aloft event and weren't able to fly all weekend. I already have a hotel room booked, but ms cancel. I was planning on hiking in Cuyahoga Valley National Park on Sunday, so maybe I will end up doing that both days instead. Without the A-26 or Corsair, plus the Sabre being replaced by the T-33 and the possibility of the B-25 missing the show, there just isn't enough heavy iron to justify making the 3.5 hour drive. Maybe they will get some last-minute additions or replacements.

I was going to go just to see the C-46, C-47 and C-54 together but as it turns out they are all going to be at TOM. Makes no sense to drive four hours when I can drive 20 minutes to TOM.

That's what I'm thinking. The F-86, A-26 and Corsair were going to be the main draws for me, and (barring an unforeseen last-minute addition) it makes no sense to drive 3+ hours to see the same aircraft I'm going to see at Thunder in three weeks.

Hope those of you who are attending have a good time! The weather looks great for the weekend and there should still be some nice aircraft in the air.

Everyone landed safely today. We were the last to arrive right behind the C-47 Yankee Doodle Dandie. Finally got to meet Anthony of Aviation Enthusiasts. I kept hearing a few others say that a B-25 was flying in tomorrow, can anyone confirm that?
