For those who are in his part of the world just wanting to extend an invitation to join us for the Toowoomba Airport Open Day which we will be celebrating 100 years of aviation in Toowoomba, November 3 2012

July 27 1912 was the first recorded flight in the then fledgling township of Toowoomba, at a time when even the site of a motor vehicle was rare!

Over the years, like many townships that were part of the ealy aviation years in Aus. have played their part and contributed to aviation history in Aus.

The land on which the current airfield sits was once private property which had an airfield situated on it, that land has been used for aviation purposes since the late 1920's. Before this the local Racecourse was the prefered aviation precinct which hosted some of the early aviation barnstormers and flying showman.

Wish to extend the invitation for aviators and enthusiats to join us

Cheers
