It is possible that the photo dates back a few years. Does anybody know when it was taken? Possibly in the 60's based on the other aircraft in the background?

Thanks for all the information. I like to keep track of the market. It has been a really good year for T-6 and T-28 sales. Many of the those are changing hands this year. Probably at least 15 T-6s that I know of, and similar number of T-28 have sold this year.

Does anyone know of any P-51s that have sold this year? I have only seen 1 transaction for any WWII era warbird priced above $1M. I have never seen such a slow year in high end warbird sales.... Its a buyers market fo sho...

I have a box of somewhat rare NOS fuel selectors. THey are made by Parker, 1-in and 4-out. Similar to that used on the P-51 and many other warbirds. These puppies need lubrication and seals since they have been sitting since WWII but would be ideal for a restoration of a P-51. Granted it is a heck o...

So I was curious if anyone might know what types of warbirds used the D-5 fuel selector? I have a box of NOS D-5s and am trying to find new homes for them. I thought it was Stearman but not positive.

I have a few spare fuel selectors which have been in storage since WWII. They appear new. They are marked Parker and D-5 which I believe is the style used on Stearmans and other WWII type aircraft. They would probably still need cleaning and rubber seals replaced as they have sat for 70 years, but l...

Very nice sights. I have a USN tube sight as used on the early Grumman F4F Wildcats. It predated this design. It operated by looking through it with one eye while using the other eye to see the surrounding area, it sounds crazy but with some practice works amazingly well. Its gives the same effect a...

Wow, the lineup at this airshow this year is fine ! I wish it was still as good as it used to be though. Hopefully it will get better in a few years.

That is a very common gun sight. You can find them on Ebay all the time... If you are considering selling it rather than collecting it would fetch about $50.

Propellers in the late 1930s were made thinner as used on the B-23 as you noticed. The reason props in the 1930s were thinner was because aircraft in that era flew at lower altitudes (where the air is thicker) and thus a thinner prop are more efficient. In the 1940s this generation of military aircr...

Come on you guys, look at the B-23 ! Its ugly.... Now look at a B-17, B-24, B-25, B-26, B-xxxxx - they be pretty ! Okay look back here, I am an engineer and have an eye for good aircraft design - sorry but the B-23 just doesnt have it. It should be melted down. If the B-23 ever went into combat it w...

Wow, you guys are brutal ! I was just trying to make the other poster feel better about not buying his B-23. I just feel that if you are going to all the trouble to restore a warbird with limited funds it would be nice to restore one with significant wartime history that when done would provide some...
